I would appreciate an update to some of the jankier bits, but as a fan of the series I ultimately don't care that much and find other things more important. Especially given that they crank one of these out on a more-or-less yearly basis and aren't quite what I'd call AAA productions. Those rougher areas make the whole presentation look more dated, but you've also gotta give them credit for the areas they consistently do well. Where they fall flat tends to be lighting in daytime/indoor scenes (outside of cutscenes which always look great), minor NPC models, and some of the janky/poorly blended animations used for movement and dialogue. This remake and all the Dragon Engine games look genuinely great in terms of important character models, texture detail, combat and cutscene animations (waiting for someone to post the bread video), etc. I think they have a point in some areas, but basically just saying "tighten up the graphics" is overly reductive. They did a fantastic job on Judgement and then outdid themselves on Lost Judgement with the new combat additions. That is legitimately some of the most fun beat em up styled combat on the market. I'm hoping on the 2nd iteration they hammer out the kinks because they really have something good here.Īlso judgement's combat is what 6/kiwami 2's combat should've been. Some bosses are very unforgiving if your entire group is clumped together which happens frequently enough to be a legitimate problem. I loved LaD's changes and if I could I would just make it so that you could fucking move the characters during the turn-based segments (or at least target the right people for aoe attacks). Don't get me wrong, it's fun but it was always the weakest part of the games. The brawler focused combat worked well enough but it got old super fast for me. I am a die hard fan of the yakuza series BUT the combat was absolutely the worst part of the games and it has been up until maybe 5 and even 5 was just "ok". /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creeschĮh don't get me wrong./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
